Húsafell is one of the most visited tourist destinations in Iceland. This is understandable since it is a unique natural gem in a magnificent landscape. The mild weather, the forest, hot springs and the facilities and services, which have been offered there to tourists in the recent years attract many visitors every year.
Information
Campfire
We will have a campfire, like we have done the last couple of years, in Hátíðarlundur in Húsafell on every Saturday at 9 p.m. The first campfire of the summer will be held on the 19th of June.
Sports
We are building two pitches for doing sports in Húsafell: A volleyball and a basketball pitch. They will be ready this summer.
Fishing permits/Trout
You can fish for trout near to Húsafell. A fishing permit is required though. For further information please call 894 0325 for the information about the trout fishing in Hólmavatn and 862 7957 for the trout fishing at Arnarvatnsheiði.
Fishing permits/Salmon
You can also fish for salmon near to Húsafell in a river called Norðlingafljót

The playground and sports facilities
A playground for children and sports facilities for the whole family can be seen here.
Hiking routes
Many good hiking routes are in Húsafell and the surrounding area. We encourage our visitors to use them. There are short routes and long routes, easy ones and more difficult ones but we are sure each and everyone will find a route which suits their needs. .

Explore the history of Húsafell
We have put up ten signs in Húsafell with information about the history of the area. Walking between takes about one hour and it is an ideal way for the whole family to get acquainted with the history of the place.
